VCC-Governor's Institute of Vermont

The Governor’s Institutes of Vermont (GIV) is a nonprofit organization working on Vermont college campuses to empower young people with intensive, hands-on summer experiences which inspire their academic and creative passions, build confidence and leadership, and expand their senses of possibility. Many graduates call it “life-changing”. We seek a self-motivated, passionate team player to help us expand access to these programs to highly motivated high-schoolers from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. You’ll promote the program and its scholarship awards via non-traditional partner agencies, mobilize teachers and social service workers to recognize talented students from disadvantaged backgrounds, assist in gender equity initiatives related to girls in STEM and boys from low income backgrounds, and help raise scholarship funds and break down barriers for students with financial need.
