Iowa Community Health AmeriCorps Member

ICHAP is helping Iowans by encouraging rural towns across Iowa to commit to adopting practices that will improve the overall health and happiness of the residents in their community. AmeriCorps members serve as liaisons between Healthiest State Initiative and local schools, businesses and community organizations in order to disseminate information and provide training, education and assessment workshops that will mobilize local citizens and lead to the establishment of smarter lunchrooms, an increase in the consumption of fruits and vegetables, safer walking routes to schools, planting community gardens, and tobacco free workplaces, to name a few. Regardless of which community you are serving, members are working to build the capacity of Healthiest State Initiative and local communities to increase the overall health and well-being of Iowans. For more information please visit www.drake.edu/servicelearning/americorps. This is a rolling start date, some members will begin after October 29.
