Family & Youth Initiative Outreach and Communications VISTA
 
 
 
DC Family & Youth Initiative (DCFYI) is a small non-profit organization that helps teens in foster care create lasting relationships with caring adults. We recruit and prepare mentors, host families, and adoptive families to support foster care teens as they age-out of the system. Our goal is to help teens aging out of foster care develop lasting relationships with adults who will support them as they transition into adulthood.

Member Duties : The Outreach and Communications VISTA will support the implementation, coordination, evaluation and documentation of DC Family & Youth Initiative’s external communication and outreach efforts. Responsibilities are centered on implementation of a comprehensive outreach and communications plan and communications tools, including social media, DCFYI’s website, brochures, and newsletters targeted to external stakeholders. • Assess Family & Youth Initiative’s communication outreach efforts and make recommendations for improvement. • Create, enhance, and implement Family & Youth Initiative’s outreach strategy to identify and engage external stakeholders. • Design and implement agreed upon improvements to existing communication and outreach efforts. Create comprehensive outreach and communications plans and craft targeted communications tools, including social media, DCFYI’s website, brochures, and newsletters.
