VolunteerBPS: VolunteerBPS is an initiative to facilitate long-term school stewardship and volunteer management relationships between effective service organizations and Boston Public Schools in order to create vibrant learning environments and strengthen a culture of high achievement all of our city's public schools. PartnerBPS: PartnerBPS is a web-based partnership registration system that serves to leverage quality school partnerships to close opportunity and achievement gaps, and improve school quality; it enables the registration, brokerage and alignment of school-based partnerships in the Boston Public Schools (BPS); it serves as a key mechanism for leveraging quality school partnerships to close opportunity and achievement gaps, and improve school quality. The selected VISTA candidate will be a member of the Boston Cares AmeriCorps VISTA program of approximately 25 VISTA members serving at more than 10 Greater Boston organizations. Pre-Service Orientation (PSO) for this position will be held November 17-20 in the Boston area. To complete your application, you will need to submit a resume and cover letter. Member Duties : VolunteerBPS: BPS plans to equitably mobilize a volunteer force to support the improvement of the schools. The VISTA will work with schools and partners to coordinate the successful completion of a variety of volunteer projects, and develop systems and trainings that will result in the creation of sustainable volunteer recruitment, mobilization, and coordination processes. It allows schools, partners, and the district to better manage and leverage volunteer projects. PartnerBPS: BPS is at piloting stage of the PartnerBPS, an online platform that BPS partner s share information regarding their programs and supports with the schools, students, and families. The VISTA will provide assistance to school, partner staff and families regarding the use of PartnerBPS, and develop toolkits and trainings designed to build the capacity of schools, partners, and district staff to best manage and utilize PartnerBPS to increase access to school-partner-community partnerships.
