City of Austin VISTA Leader
 
 
 
The City of Austin is seeking an AmeriCorps VISTA Leader to work with the 16 VISTA members and their projects as they serve in various departments across the City. VISTA Leader will work in the Youth and Family Services/Youth Initiatives Office with the City’s project director, Site-Supervisors, and VISTA members to ensure projects are meeting the needs of the communities they are serving, and VISTA members have the support needed to fulfill their year of service. The VISTA Leader is a liaison between VISTAs and city staff, assists in recruitment, implementation of projects, and VISTA member on-site professional development and training sessions. The VISTA Leader will be responsible for gathering the data for performance measures, supporting site-supervisors and VISTA members, facilitating collaboration and connectivity among VISTAs, and assuring that all aspects of the projects are working cohesively and effectively. Member Duties : VISTA Leader will support VISTA members throughout their year of service and as they transition in and out of service; assure that projects effectively meet their capacity building goals; serve as the liaison between project director, site-supervisor, VISTA members, and other stakeholders involved; aid in the planning and coordination of the on-site orientations and other VISTA events; retrieving performance measures from all VISTA members to track the progress of projects; mediate the successful transition of VISTAs so that projects sustain their momentum and effectiveness as new VISTAs come in.
