CDA4Kids School District 271 Capacity Builder
 
 
 
The Community Development Affiliates for Kids (CDA4Kids) project reaches at-risk students and their families in the Coeur d’Alene School District. As a VISTA, you will help end poverty by designing and building capacity in programs that change the life trajectory of disadvantaged children and youth. The city of Coeur d’Alene is located on beautiful Coeur d’Alene Lake, and hosts a vibrant arts and culture scene, as well as providing year-round access to outdoor recreation – downhill skiing, boating, and hiking to high alpine lakes.

Member Duties : The AmeriCorps VISTA member will work with a team of dedicated education professionals to develop capacity within the Coeur d’Alene School District to support at-risk students and families, through a number of programs, including after-school, drug prevention, summer school, Native American education, and STEAM activities. The successful candidate will work well in a team, and be motivated to explore new methods to reach disadvantaged children and youth in order to strengthen their academic and life skills. The VISTA will develop an appreciation for the intersection of academic success with the social determinants of health.
