Chisholm Trail RSVP-Youth and Family Counseling
 
 
 
Chisholm Trail RSVP, Inc. is a VISTA Intermediary agency working with non-profit agencies, such as Youth and Family Counseling in Denton County Texas to alleviate poverty in North Texas. Youth and Family Counseling was founded in 1981 by the Police Chiefs of Lewisville, Flower Mound, and Highland Village to create a First Offender Program that would serve as a means to divert youthful offenders from the juvenile justice system. The founders incorporated family participation due to evidence that many adolescents' first violations coincided with times of family stress, such as a divorce, terminal illness, job loss, or the arrival of a step parent. The Grants and Resource Development VISTA will build the agency’s financial capacity and increase the quality mental health services offered to children and adults in Denton County Texas. Member Duties : The VISTA member will: 1. Determine the grant sources available in the agency’s geographical area and develop a plan for submitting grant applications. 2. Write, coordinate or lead at least 4 grants with a total potential outcome of $75,000. 3. Become familiar with current fundraising efforts and assist the agency with increasing revenues through these fundraisers. 4. Research, develop and implement small-scale fundraising opportunities to be utilized throughout the year. 5. Increase awareness of the agency’s mission and market volunteer opportunities within the service area by growing current and establishing new relationships with community groups and businesses.
