San Antonio Veteran Homelessness Coordinator
 
 
 
• No Veterans Sleeping on the Street • Every Veteran has permanent housing • Veterans at risk of becoming homeless can quickly achieve housing stability Increasing engagement of homeless service providers, the business community, landlords and other potential partners in the effort to end veteran and chronic homelessness. Working with homeless program managers and within the guidelines of the program funder, the member will assist in coordinating a veteran homeless service provider workgroup. This group meets bi-weekly to provide staff case management support for homeless individuals to move them toward permanent housing. This working group will also develop a mechanism to obtain feedback from partners and present recommendations for improved partner relationships.

Member Duties : The member will participate in the weekly Homeless Veterans Work Group. The purpose of the work group is to ensure all supporting agencies are on track with reaching predetermined milestones, objective requirements, and veteran placement goals. Prior to each meeting, the member will cross match by name lists and verify veteran status with the local Veterans Administration office. This verification will then be updated in the HMIS data base for all supporting agencies to review. This is a critical time sensitive function to guarantee the veteran is assigned to an agency that best meets the veteran’s needs and can provide the required services in all functional areas. Member will assist the Homeless Veteran Coordinator with collecting data to generate monthly reports utilizing the HMIS report function and verifying accuracy of the report.
