Member Duties : They will provide direct service to public and private non-profit organizations involved in restoration and stewardship of the Great Lakes ecosystem.
During the academic year, they may engage their peers in environmental service-learning projects of ongoing to those organizations.
Tasks and responsibilities may include the following:
1. Monitoring of water quality and native/non-native aquatic and terrestrial species
2. Removal/control of non-native species and restoration of native species.
3. Watershed/wetland restoration and stewardship, including improvement of riparian habitat and vegetation on public lands
4. Improvement of public access to public lands, including trail maintenance
5. Organization and leadership of environmental service-learning activities
6. Urban community garden management
7. Participation in orientation and training activities
8. Education of the general public on environmental stewardship topics related to mission(s) of the host site(s).
