WSC, NAMI Seattle, Outreach & Program Assistant
 
 
 
Representing thousands of individuals and family members across the U.S., the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is the nation’s largest grassroots NAMI Seattle is the local NAMI affiliate for the city of Seattle. The AmeriCorps member will report to the Program Coordinator and will help develop an innovative outreach plan and new administrative processes for our community programs. Our AmeriCorps member will: • Provide support, coordination, and outreach for all educational and community programs including classes, presentations, and support groups • Communicate regularly with volunteer program leaders • Assist with data collection, management and analysis for all programs • Maintain accurate data collection in our internal database and respect confidentiality • Assist with recruitment and training of new volunteers (review applications, screen volunteers, plan/lead volunteer orientations and trainings) • Help coordinate public events about mental health for the wider community (find venues, speakers, invite participants, market events) • Conduct community outreach and marketing for all educational and support programs • Represent NAMI Seattle at community health fairs, presentations and conferences • Create outreach materials and strategies for NAMI Seattle programs • Work to develop relationships with partner health agencies in the community • Create content for social media (current events/news) and encourage volunteers to contribute to our newsletter • Participate in required trainings • Utilize creativity and innovation to develop new outreach strategies and ideas for partnerships THE POSITION IS CONTINGENT ON FUNDING
