The Healthy Homes Project Lead works with community volunteers to conduct environmental health home assessments. Local residents invite us into their homes to provide these optional Healthy Homes Visits. The visits help participants make behavior changes which lead to fewer asthma hospitalizations; minimize the risk of lead poisoning and lead exposure, improve residential pest control with safe effective strategies; reduce health impacts from mold and moisture, and protect them from other housing-related health risks. Healthy Homes Program relies on trained volunteers that assist with these visits. An extensive training is held each year to meet the needs of new volunteers. Under the supervision of the program coordinator, the Healthy Homes Project Lead will become trained in providing Healthy Homes education, help organize the Healthy Homes volunteer training, provide volunteer support and recognition events; help recruit and schedule volunteers; develop creative and innovative program outreach activities to engage the community; conduct Healthy Homes visits, follow-up contacts, and other program services; and assist with program effectiveness evaluation. *This position is contingent on funding.
