Flint Community School Corps - Community Resource Developer
 
 
 
The City of Flint supports a Community Schools Corps made up of AmeriCorps members and NCCC teams who provide during/after-school and summer learning activities for K-12 grade students and build capacity for community education in all Flint Community Schools schools. AmeriCorps VISTA members serve in schools and create systems to connect the school administration, parents, social service supports and community members in ways that improve academic outcomes, and recruit and manage a core pool of parent and community volunteers to help deliver during/after-school and summer programs from August 2017 to August 2018.

Member Duties : The Community Resource Developer will: Build up existing partnerships between community partner organizations & Flint Community Schools (FCS) Create new partnerships between nonprofit organizations, local businesses, social services & FCS Recruit, train & manage volunteers to serve with community education Collaborate with partners to develop the curriculum and plan for the STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) Camp for Summer 2017 Support and facilitate school advisory groups in each school Collaborate with other members to implement other fun, quality, safe & educational programming and activities Partner with other national service members, Crim staff, FCS staff & parent/community volunteers to develop at least one day of service event within the school or school community Attend required meetings and submit required paperwork as set by the AmeriCorps Program Manager, the Crim Fitness Foundation, FCS, and the National Service Accelerator
