DREAM - Development Assistant

Maybe you’d like to join us? We are seeking a Development Assistant in our Philadelphia office. DREAM is a youth development organization that works to change the life outcomes of youth living in low-income housing developments by providing high quality, college campus based Village Mentoring, summer enrichment programming, local and regional adventures, support for post-secondary success, and an unwavering commitment to some of our most vulnerable youth. DREAM recruits college student volunteer to serve as mentors to youth living in affordable housing. All DREAM youth receive consistent, year-round DREAM programming, from elementary school through high school graduation and into college and career. DREAM believes in the adage that “it takes a village to raise a child” and takes a more community oriented approach to mentoring, building a strong social support network around each youth participant. DREAM is a small but growing organization seeking to increase its impact and reach in Philadelphia. The Development Assistant will work closely with the Regional Director to execute the annual fundraising plan and build our operational capacity through grant writing, annual appeal campaigns, donor and grant research, special fundraising events, networking and marketing.

Member Duties : Researching and prospecting donors and grants, managing data in a Salesforce database, grant writing, special event planning and management, compiling solicitation materials, acknowledging donors, managing social media and external communications and building our donor network in Philadelphia. The Development Assistant will work closely with the Regional Director to execute the annual fundraising plan and build DREAM's operational capacity through grant writing, annual appeal campaigns, donor and grant research, special fundraising events, networking and marketing. The Development Assistant will get an incredibly valuable learning experience in grassroots fundraising and growing the giving capacity of a newly launched non-profit organization. They will be a viable member of the DREAM development team and will gain a tremendous amount of new skills and insight into non-profit development strategy.
