Stanislaus State - STEM Outreach Coordinator

Do you have a passion for being a leader of change? Do you like to collaborate with others to provide young people in the community access to STEM activities? If so, you could be Science in Our Community’s Outreach Coordinator! Science in Our Community’s STEM Ambassadors provide opportunities for Stan State students to develop leadership skills while being part of a fun and collaborative team. STEM Ambassadors collaborate with Stan State students, the College of Science and the School of Education. This is a great way for students to share their classroom learning in the community. This role is part of the CSU STEM VISTA program. As a member of this cohort, you will take part in a learning community of VISTAs across the California State University system. Our one-year program is designed to promote your growth professionally and personally as you create and enhance programs for STEM students. All projects within CSU STEM VISTA are focused on eliminating race, class, and gender disparities in STEM undergraduate graduation rates. You will be trained to utilize sustainable, asset-based approaches that engage students of color, students from low-income communities, and students who are first in their families to attend college.
