MOI – Development & Marketing Coordinator - SPPS Foundation

The Mid-Continent Oceanographic Institute (MOI), formerly known as Rock Star Supply Co., is dedicated to supporting students ages 6 to 18 with their writing skills and homework, emphasizing cross-curriculum creativity. MOI is a Tutoring Partner of the SPPS Foundation and is set to become the first local chapter in Minnesota of 826 National by 2016. MOI has a focus on project-based learning, homework help, extra-curricular reading, along with spectacular writing prompts and smaller writing workshops, we aim to enhance the educational experience of the students we serve. We believe writing is fun, and also necessary, and we work with students to find, shape, and expand their own unique voice while gaining critical skills and confidence. The Development and Marketing Coordinator will increase MOI’s capacity to serve under-resourced students in the Twin Cities by assisting with donor database management and creation, grant writing and research, creating templates for newsletters and managing MOI’s social media. This is the first time MOI has had a development/marketing position, so the VISTA will be responsible for creating and implementing communication calendars, and researching best practices in development and communication. This position is part of the Saint Paul Public Schools Foundation VISTA project. Preference given to applications received by 05/01/2015.
