Fresno State - Co-Curricular STEM Coordinator

Do you have a passion for social justice? If so, consider serving as the Co-curricular Coordinator at Fresno State University’s College of Science and Mathematics (CSM) to help improve STEM equity by providing more accessible and better coordinated high-impact opportunities for students. CSM provides many High-Impact Practices (HIPs) that help students learn while building community, expertise, and career readiness. For first-time freshmen entering CSM, the first-year experience program with “wraparound support” (faculty and advisors working together) provides their first HIP experience. This role is part of the CSU STEM VISTA program. As a member of this cohort, you will take part in a learning community of VISTAs across the California State University system. Our one-year program is designed to promote your growth professionally and personally as you create and enhance programs for STEM students. All projects within CSU STEM VISTA are focused on eliminating race, class, and gender disparities in STEM undergraduate graduation rates. You will be trained to utilize sustainable, asset-based approaches that engage students of color, students from low-income communities, and students who are first in their families to attend college.
