Immigration Project--Volunteer Coordinator
The AmeriCorps VISTA Volunteer Coordinator will assist in the recruitment and training of volunteers. The Immigration Project relies on volunteers to assist with outreach, translation, case management, and administrative tasks. The Volunteer Coordinator will work to create a communications plan, recruitment plan, and training plan to increase volunteerism and the number of clients the Immigration Project is able to serve.

Member Duties : The AmeriCorps VISTA Volunteer Coordinator would recruit and develop a volunteer corps specifically in McLean County, but also throughout Central and Southern Illinois. They would implement the following measures: actively recruit students from the numerous colleges throughout Central and Southern Illinois; create a recruitment plan for community members to assist the Immigration Project; create a volunteer handbook; create and implement trainings for volunteers; recruit, train, and organize volunteers for our clinics in different regions to help with intake and application preparation; and design a system to track the volunteers recruited and hours contributed.
