15-16 Iowa Campus Compact - Iowa Western Community College
 
 
 
Iowa Campus Compact is a statewide coalition of colleges and universities committed to the public role of higher education. We provide services to our members that enhance their ability to engage students, staff, and faculty in their communities including professional development opportunities, technical assistance, networking, grants and other programming. The 2015-2016 IACC VISTA Program will work to build partnerships between our member campuses and their community partners in an effort to build capacity and alleviate poverty in relation to education and economic opportunity.

Member Duties : The VISTA will work with Iowa College Aid and Iowa Western Community College (IWCC) to build a coordinated effort around college access and persistence. They will work to develop and implement the College Change Everything Initiative in Council Bluffs on location at IWCC. The member will work to build public awareness and develop community relationships through presentations and workshops, while also serving as a connector to mentors for students, providing FAFSA education and completion assistance, and supporting the Iowa College Application Campaign. The VISTA will also work to develop and implement policies and services aimed at Pottawattamie College Promise Scholars. The VISTA will work to get documents collected for a policy and procedure manual. They will work with various stakeholders at the college to successfully implement and track program success. The position is located in Council Bluffs, Iowa. IWCC benefits package includes housing in suite style living and meal plan.
