Bucknell- PACC

Do issues of hunger, sustainability, and food justice interest you? Located in a beautiful central Pennsylvania, the Bucknell University Food Program Coordinator at Bucknell University will work with an established community garden, hot meal program, and snack pack program. The VISTA will assist in the development of new nutritional programming that will be presented to the community through summer camps, cooking demonstrations, and free workshops at the public library. He or she will direct the expansion of the variety of plants that we grow. Our VISTA will do this by working alongside our botanists to plan the cultivation of a berry patch, asparagus plot, and a sugar maple stand. In addition, the VISTA will work with Bucknell students to develop a stand-alone daylong grogram at the garden that can be offered to summer camp groups. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is motivated to make substantial change to the welfare of community members. Pennsylvania Campus Compact (PACC) is an organization which offers statewide support for member institutions who sustain an environment, culture, and infrastructure for student civic and community engagement and campus/community partnerships.
