St. Paul Public Library (Volunteen) -- St. Paul VISTA Prog

The mission of the Saint Paul Public Library is to connect people in Saint Paul with the imperative and the joy of learning through a lifetime. Our vision is that we are a cornerstone of a thriving city: welcoming people of all ages and cultures; strengthening neighborhoods and learning networks; and inspiring all with the world of ideas. Public Libraries serve the entire public, helping them access resources. The impact is great on low-income communities, providing access to technology, assistance finding jobs and resources, and being a cornerstone of the community where possibilities and hope thrive. VISTA Volunteen Coordinator project will build on the robust and growing teen youth work model. What we are learning about youth development and youth work will enrich our teen volunteer program, engaging youth as colleagues in the library. Currently, our only option for teen volunteers is the same as our adult volunteer model. Teens will benefit from engagement with an innovative youth volunteer program. **This VISTA position is sponsored by the Saint Paul VISTA Program. Hosted in Mayor Chris Coleman's Office, the Saint Paul VISTA Program comprises a city-wide cohort of individuals -- placed at community organizations and schools -- dedicated to shaping the educational landscape for youth and families in Saint Paul.**
