Elpis Enterprises -- St. Paul VISTA Program
 
 
 
Elpis Enterprises is one of only a very few agencies in the metro Twin Cities area that is designed specifically to provide multi-faceted work readiness services within a developmentally appropriate framework to homeless and precariously housed young people between 16 and 23 years of age. With a mission of “Youth Development Through Social Enterprise”, our goal is guaranteed employment upon completion of our enterprise based training. We have 30 trainees a year working in our three social enterprises (silk screen printing, wood working and ecommerce). **This VISTA position is sponsored by the Saint Paul VISTA Program. Hosted in Mayor Chris Coleman's Office, the Saint Paul VISTA Program comprises a city-wide cohort of individuals -- placed at community organizations and schools -- dedicated to shaping the educational landscape for youth and families in Saint Paul.**

Member Duties : This position is focused on meeting, developing and cultivating business relationships to build our social enterprises in a way that enhances our work experience training program. The VISTA member will interact with businesses and membership organizations to identify potential business partners that can support Elpis in various ways (e.g. sales, philanthropy, and employment options for Elpis trainees). Additionally, the VISTA member will document this process and develop standards and procedures that will form the core curriculum of a new Elpis training component focusing on sales and marketing. At the end of the service period, the VISTA member will have developed an Elpis sales and service model that interfaces with our communications and marketing objectives as well as with our work readiness and job training programs.
