Keystone Community Services -- St. Paul VISTA Program

Keystone Community Service's mission is to strengthen the capacity of individuals and families to improve their quality of life. A core value guides all of our programming: to help individuals and families build resiliency and self-sufficiency. The combined youth programs of Keystone Community Service and the West 7th Community Center serve over 200 low income neighborhood youth ages 5-18 in three separate afterschool programs - West 7th Community Kids, the Hmong Youth Program and Youth Express. Community Kids, is a licensed and accredited youth development program at West 7th Community Center that provides social-emotional learning, youth leadership, service learning, and academic enrichment opportunities for youth in grades K-10. The Hmong Youth and Family Program, a highly culturally competent program that provides academic tutoring, enrichment activities and youth leadership at McDonough Community Center in St. Paul’s North End for youth in grades K-12. Youth Express, an innovative youth employment program that provides work readiness, leadership and employment opportunities for youth in grades 9-12 at multiple St. Paul sites. Together the three programs support low-income youth by providing access to high quality programs designed to boost and improve academic success and provide employment opportunities that connect older youth to career and future academic options. **This VISTA position is sponsored by the Saint Paul VISTA Program. Hosted in Mayor Chris Coleman's Office, the Saint Paul VISTA Program comprises a city-wide cohort of individuals -- placed at community organizations and schools -- dedicated to shaping the educational landscape for youth and families in Saint Paul.**

Member Duties : Our VISTA will gather evaluation tools currently used by our three youth-serving programs as well as collect and review the data collected with evaluation tools. Our VISTA will analyze data collection systems to determine what an integrated data collection system should include and develop an integrated evaluation plan and timeline for the three programs with the support of the program supervisors. They will also research and evaluate new evaluation tools to be implemented in programs and create a team of youth evaluators and train them in using program evaluation tools. The VISTA will supervise the youth evaluators and assist them with the development of a program quality plan for each program and identify gaps in services for youth in Keystone's service area and develop a program expansion plan.
