St. Paul Racial Equity Initiative -- St. Paul VISTA Program

The City of Saint Paul is home to over 290,000 residents of which 45% are people of color. Saint Paul has been an increasingly diverse city that has become home to many immigrant groups over the last 35 years. In order to tap into the full assets of all Saint Paul's community members, The City of Saint Paul under the leadership of Mayor Chris Coleman has set a racial equity vision, where "Saint Paul will be a city where race does not predetermine opportunities in education, employment, housing, healthy and safety". The Racial Equity VISTA will join the Mayor's Education Policy team to advance and support the City's Racial Equity Initaitive. **This VISTA position is sponsored by the Saint Paul VISTA Program. Hosted in Mayor Chris Coleman's Office, the Saint Paul VISTA Program comprises of a city-wide cohort of individuals -- placed at community organizations and schools -- dedicated to shaping the educational landscape for youth and families in Saint Paul.**
