Partners Mentoring Youth

The mission of Partners Mentoring Youth is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships between positive adult role models and youth facing challenges in their personal, social and academic lives. We are the most comprehensive one-to-one mentoring program in Northern Colorado, exceptional at matching youth (Junior Partners) with volunteer mentors (Senior Partners) and supporting their relationship. Our youth, boys and girls ages 7-17, are referred by professionals in the community because they are experiencing circumstances that put them at risk for not reaching their full potential in life. Mentoring is a well documented prevention strategy for positive youth development and our evaluation results show that after just one year (Partnerships are required to spend 3 hours/week for, at least, a year) in our mentoring program, our youth have: *Increased self-esteem and self confidence *Increased academic achievement *Less delinquent behavior and drug use *Stronger bonds with adults other than their parents *Increased ability to plan for their future
