The Tremont West VISTA 2016 Project will be a great opportunity for a young professional interested in many aspects of community development. This opportunity will give an individual exposure to working directly with the residents and businesses of Tremont. The year will include program development and implementation around housing issues of affordability and foreclosure prevention and energy, community gardens and food security.

Member Duties : The Tremont West VISTA will work with neighborhood residents building a community garden network and with the Tremont schools reestablishing their learning gardens. The VISTA will be tasked with addressing food insecurity in Tremont and connecting neighborhood residents to available access points of healthy affordable food in Tremont. Additionally, the VISTA will also continue to develop a program to provide assistance to homeowners at risk of foreclosure, and develop a sustainable program around creating affordable housing in Tremont.
