Member Duties : * Assist in facilitating summer programming. Where possible, AmeriCorps members are encouraged to use their unique skills to develop extra-curricular programming (e.g., photography, art or creative writing, etc.)
* Assist in classrooms helping instructors with academic and enrichment lessons
* Facilitating and leading small groups of students in academic and enrichment activities
* Providing 1:1 support to students through tutoring and mentoring
* Helping to plan and prepare enrichment activities and programming
* Attending staff meetings at assigned site(s) and monthly Youth Achievement AmeriCorps meetings.
* Attending site-sponsored activities and trainings; participate in reflection and service activities.
* Some weekend and evening hours may be necessary.
* This position has recurring access to vulnerable populations.
Benefits:
* Modest living allowance- $2400 for 300 hours of service over 10 weeks
