Free Clinics- KidSMILES Pediatric Dental Clinic

The Ohio Association of Free Clinics is a state-wide agency that works with all partnering free clinics in Ohio to expand awareness of the free clinic network, identify new funding sources for the network, and increase the capacity of the free clinics in the state. Free clinic services vary, but may include: primary care, prescription assistance, dental, vision, behavioral health and other specialties. The Association plans to engage VISTA members in fundraising activities, volunteer management/recruitment, agency policy development, community outreach/education, expansion of clinic services, and many other special projects that may occur throughout the year.

Member Duties : KidSMILES Pediatric Dental Clinic is a young organization looking for a volunteer coordinator to help manage existing volunteers and recruit additional, new volunteers. The member will develop and implement a volunteer plan that will include such aspects as recruitment, training, recognition and retention. The member will have the opportunity to plan and execute a volunteer recruitment event – scope yet to be determined. The member will also participate in educational outreach activities including assisting with visits to local school to promote good oral hygiene. This unique service position will provide the ultimate opportunity for a member to have a significant, direct impact on building KidSMILES and helping achieve the mission of providing dental care to children in need.
