OSMRE/WHWT VISTA Rifle
 
 
 
The Rifle Main Street Program addresses the city's need for economic diversity by promoting economic development through special events in downtown Rifle, and creating an atmosphere of communication and collaboration among businesses and local organizations through outreach and education. The VISTA member will particularly focus on creating implementation systems for Main Street programs and building the capacity among city staff, volunteers, and businesses. The purpose of the Main Street program is to foster economic development through the revitalization of downtown Rifle. One of the major ways Rifle seeks to do this is through events that bring residents and visitors to the downtown. The OSMRE/VISTA will assist in organizing these events and developing partnerships with businesses as well as other entities to engage community memebrs and promote these events. The OSMRE/VISTA will also assist the sponsor organization in enhancing community awareness and involvement through education and outreach.

Member Duties : The OSMRE/VISTA will assist the sponsor organization in enhancing community awareness and involvement through education and outreach. OSMRE/VISTA will develop tracking systems in areas such as volunteer recruitment, success of downtown special events, downtown business growth, or outreach and education. OSMRE/VISTA will engage in volunteer recruitment. Assist in the coordination of downtown community events such as Farmer’s Markets, concerts at Centennial Park and the Ute Theater, and first Fridays. The VISTA will organize Main Street partners and volunteers to coordinate the design improvements, downtown beautification, and incentives for business attraction and retention. The OSMRE/VISTA will build local support by communicating Main Street programs to downtown businesses and stakeholders through education and outreach.
