15-16 Iowa Campus Compact - Mercy College of Health Sciences
 
 
 
Iowa Campus Compact is a statewide coalition of colleges and universities committed to the public role of higher education. We provide services to our members that enhance their ability to engage students, staff, and faculty in their communities including professional development opportunities, technical assistance, networking, grants and other programming. The 2015-2016 IACC VISTA Program will work to build partnerships between our member campuses and their community partners in an effort to build capacity and alleviate poverty in relation to education and economic opportunity.

Member Duties : The AmeriCorps VISTA member will work in collaboration with the Mercy College Service Learning Advisory Committee and Student Affairs Office to help organize and oversee service learning initiatives and financial literacy efforts that address community-defined needs for underserved populations in the metro area. The VISTA will identify and foster community partnerships, track service learning experiences for students, utilize creativity in promoting activities and initiatives, maintain communications, and update and coordinate financial literacy programming focusing on the needs of college students. The VISTA will organize events and activities focused on educating the campus on service learning and financial literacy. In addition, the VISTA will help with the Iowa College AmeriCorps Program, including recruitment and training. Mercy College of Health Sciences is located in Des Moines, Iowa.
