Metropolitan State University was founded in 1971 to serve the educational needs of working adults in the St. Paul and Minneapolis, Minnesota metropolitan area. The University is committed to provide exceptional student experiences while partnering with, serving and meeting the needs of the community. The Advanced Dental Therapy Program is part of the College of Health, Community and Professional Studies, and the first program in the nation to offer a degree in advanced dental therapy. The mission of the Master of Science in Advanced Dental Therapy program is to improve the oral health of underserved populations by providing high quality, patient-centered care. The goals include educating students to increase the dental workforce in Minnesota, provide oral health services to underserved populations, promote the well being of underserved communities, provide educational experiences for students and develop and foster leadership within dental public health.
