Afterschool and Summer Meals Expansion VISTA - New Hampshire
 
 
 
Did you know childhood hunger affects 44,440 New Hampshire children? Afterschool and summer meals significantly reduce the number of children going hungry throughout the day. You can be a part of this statewide solution and work alongside the Afterschool Alliance, NHAN and NH Kids Count. As a member of this team, you will educate community partners, break down barriers to participation, and support afterschool and summer programs as they seek federal nutrition resources.

Member Duties : Develop relationships with community stakeholders connected to the afterschool and summer meals programs; Work with individual afterschool programs to find solutions to specific and common problems; Develop a collection of outreach materials to distribute to interested programs; Work with food, education and health advocates to engage non-school programs in serving as meal program intermediaries; Present at statewide and local conferences and trainings; Organize local outreach events. Organize a statewide event on broadly implementing afterschool supper and summer meals programs; As a key element of this work, the VISTA will research and understand program details, requirements and regulations related to the At-Risk Afterschool Meals and Summer Food Service Programs.
