Windham & Windsor Housing Trust’s mission is to strengthen the communities of Southeast Vermont through the development and stewardship of permanently affordable housing and through ongoing support and advocacy for its residents. The goal of the Community Outreach Specialist will to increase and improve upon the services offered in 3 categories: home repair program, financial literacy, Shared Equity homeowner services. This position will be instrumental in designing and implementing outreach and community engagement efforts for our service area. This position will be based in the Brattleboro office and will further community awareness and engagement with all of WWHT’s services--financial capabilities, homebuyer education, home repair, and energy efficiency. There will be particular emphasis on providing outreach services to the home repair program as it expands into new counties in late 2017 and into 2018. The Outreach Specialist will be instrumental in strengthening and coordinating WWHT’s inquiry and intake processes by working with the WWHT Customer Service Coordinator. Service Conditions: Service occurs both in an office environment as well as in the community, in Windham, Windsor, Orange, Washington and Lamoille counties. Having your own vehicle and working on some nights and weekends are required. Position begins September 11th, 2017 and ends August 10th, 2018. This position is Full Time: Requires 1,700 hours and serves approximately 40 hours per week for 11 months. Member will receive a living allowance of $17,850 (pre-tax), and an education award of $5,815 (pre-tax) upon successful completion of service. Member Duties : • Learning the overall workings of WWHT and providing basic information to people who call wanting information about our loan programs, financial capabilities and shared equity. • Perform outreach in support of the Home Repair Program and HomeOwnership Center including financial literacy and homebuyer education services. • Create/updates flyers, inform partners, community members and customers of our services and programs, events and education opportunities. • Help facilitate financial capabilities services including providing intake application assistance, engaging in one-on-one mentoring, data collection and reporting. • Assist property management staff and customer service coordinator with services to homeless applicants as they move through coordinated entry process For full position description: http://www.vhcb.org/americorps/menu_events/positions/
