Literacy Kansas City - Family Reading Program Coordinator
 
 
 
The AmeriCorps VISTA Family Reading Program Coordinator will be responsible for the continued development and implementation of the Family Reading Program, including student and volunteer recruitment strategies, instructor support, evaluation and assessment, coordination of partners, and expanded site recruitment; support fund development with research and identification of potential supporters and writing of grants; cultivate strategic community partnerships; and expand the number of clients served through technology enhancements and curriculum diversification.

Member Duties : • Support instructors in curriculum and material evaluation and integration • Develop recruitment and retention strategies of students and tutors • Coordinate all aspects of program service delivery, from organizing site logistics to using data management system to track constituents; including Digital Life Skills components • Work with community partners on the continued expansion of current Family Reading Program sites, and the continued development of new Family Reading Program sites • Become efficient and knowledgeable in curriculum through training and research; and train others in that knowledge • Support volunteer management staff in volunteer management activities for the Family Reading Program • Market the Family Reading Program to prospective students and volunteers
