Evaluation and Assessment VISTA - DC Public Schools
 
 
 
With a strong record of developing reciprocal, respectful, active, and democratic partnerships, George Washington University (GWU) in downtown Washington DC is seeking a VISTA to serve as an Evaluation and Assessment Designer in the Office of Out-of-School-Time Programs (OSTP) in the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS). The VISTA will increase the capacity of OSTP to measure and ensure afterschool program quality during the school year and summer by designing and creating activities and tools for program evaluation. The VISTA will work for one year with GWU and DCPS school staff and community members and will be able to build education-related knowledge and experience, and community development, data analysis, and communication skills. The year-long project term is somewhat variable, based on the start date, but will likely begin in July 2017. Key attributes of a successful Evaluation and Assessment VISTA include: • Knowledge and experience with data collection and data collection tools. • Ability to help others successfully use data collection tools. • Ability to work independently, take initiative and achieve goals. • Ability to generate user-friendly reports and recommendations based on data collection.

Member Duties : The Evaluation and Assessment VISTA will increase the capacity of the DCPS Division of Out-of-School Time Programs (OSTP) to ensure afterschool program quality during the school year and summer by engaging in program evaluation activities. The Evaluation and Assessment Database Designer will participate in the development of assessment tools and will gather and review data related to programs, and community and student participation. Responsibilities of the Evaluation and Assessment Designer VISTA: • Review existing data collection tools and make plans for improvement. • Visit program sites and gather relevant data. • Analyze data gathered and develop and disseminate findings. • Reach out to stakeholders through reports, meetings, training, and technical assistance.
