Outreach, Training, and Evaluation VISTA - DC Public Schools
With a strong record of developing reciprocal, respectful, active, and democratic partnerships, George Washington University (GW) in downtown Washington DC is seeking a VISTA to serve as an Outreach, Training and Evaluation VISTA in the Out of School Time Programs team (OSTP) in the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS). The VISTA will increase the capacity of OSTP to conduct communications outreach to stakeholders, design and implement training for OSTP staff, and design and implement tools to measure program quality. The VISTA will work for one year with GWU and DCPS school staff and community members and will be able to build education-related knowledge and experience, community development, data analysis, and communications skills.

Member Duties : Key attributes of a successful candidate include: • Excellent writing, editing, and oral communications skills • Experience crafting strategic communications for diverse audiences, including teachers, parents, and community partners • Experience with data collection and assessment. • Ability to work independently, take initiative and achieve goals. • Ability to generate user-friendly reports and recommendations based on data. • Ability to write succinct, grammatically correct and engaging texts for newsletters, flyers, and reports • Ability to collaborate on needs assessment, planning, and implementation of training events for DCPS staff •Knowledgeable of the education sector a plus.
