Chisholm Trail RSVP, Inc. is a VISTA Intermediary agency working with non-profit agencies, such as Interfaith Ministries Denton, Inc. in Denton County Texas to alleviate poverty in North Texas. Interfaith Ministries is a joint civic-ecumenical agency that combines the efforts of local businesses, civic organizations, and faith-based organizations to offer aid and compassion to individuals and families of Northern Denton County suffering from emergencies and financial setbacks with a goal of making them self-sufficient. Interfaith Ministries has been providing short-term financial assistance to Denton families since 1991. Assistance is coordinated with other agencies and is targeted to promote client self-sufficiency. The Volunteer Recruitment and Coordination VISTA will work to strengthen Interfaith Ministries’ volunteer program through recruitment, recognition and retention of current and new volunteers. Member Duties : The Volunteer Recruitment and Coordination VISTA member will work with Interfaith Ministries’ executive director and staff to strengthen the agency’s volunteer program through multiple avenues. The VISTA will be responsible for the recruitment of at least 20 new volunteers through community outreach and free advertising opportunities and include the development of an interview and training process. The VISTA will create and fill schedules for events and other organizational needs, track volunteer activities, and develop a recognition plan for volunteers. Additionally, the VISTA member will update the volunteer training manual and resources and publish monthly or quarterly newsletters detailing the activities of and recognizing the volunteers.
