Cornerstone-Graduate Gateway-Carrollton- Organization Dev

Graduate Gateway was founded in 2011 to alleviate poverty and homelessness through education. In an age of a fragile economy and heightened risks of poverty and homelessness, Graduate Gateway focuses its efforts and funding on education for disadvantaged youth so that they can sustain good lives through good jobs. By focusing on the impacts and causes of intergenerational poverty, we hope to enable the students who complete our program to sustain themselves financially and by doing so to bring families and ultimately communities out of poverty. We currently offer college scholarships to talented low income students who might not be able to attend college otherwise. We are excited to expand our programming through the help of our VISTAs to include a mentoring program and a financial literacy education program for our students. We are also excited to grow and strengthen our organization’s fundraising and communication so that we are able to positively impact more low-income students. The three VISTA members assigned to our organization will be indispensable to the growth of the future of Graduate Gateway. All VISTAs will report directly to the executive director and will work together in a highly collaborative and flexible environment. A bachelor’s degree is preferred though applicants with some college experience will be considered. These positions will be located at 1330 Capital Parkway, Carrollton, TX 75006, and the pay rate for each position will be $990 per month BEFORE taxes.

Member Duties : The Organizational Development Associate will focus primarily on stabilizing and expanding the Graduate Gateway's fundraising programs to build Graduate Gateway's capacity. The VISTA will be responsible for assisting the board in choosing a comprehensive relationship management system, researching and presenting new funding sources, and applying for that funding where appropriate. Additionally, the VISTA will coordinate Graduate Gateway’s monthly giving program and work to present new and innovative fundraising events. The funds raised by the VISTA will allow Graduate Gateway to expand its programming and positively impact more individuals living in poverty. In addition to fundraising responsibilities, this VISTA will also work to create and fund a paid internship program for college students who have struggled with poverty and/or homelessness and a Community Advisory Group which will meet quarterly and provide feedback and suggestions on the operation of Graduate Gateway.
