BMVP Access to Affordable & Fair Housing - Great Falls

Increased affordable housing is needed in Great Falls both to ensure that all households have access to quality housing and that sufficient workforce housing exists so that businesses can grow and expand in the community. Fair housing work is essential for families trying to move out of poverty, as it removes discriminatory barriers that prevent access to housing, education, and employment opportunities. Housing mobility improves access to high-performing schools, adequate infrastructure / transportation systems, access to health services, and higher paying jobs. Students in integrated schools have higher test scores, are more likely to enroll in college, and are less likely to drop out of school. The City of Great Falls Planning and Community Development Department (PCD) endeavors to lead efforts to ensure all community members, regardless of income, have access to quality, affordable and fair housing. This project will alleviate poverty through preservation and development of affordable and fair housing. The capacity built through this project will result in improved access to quality housing, education, healthcare, and employment opportunities to ensure long-term success.
