MNA 2017 - Oakland University

As a VISTA with Oakland University, you would be helping to address the Town and Gown divide between the university and the city of Pontiac. You would also be working with the Pontiac Promise Zone and Oakland’s Project Upward Bound to make sure kids in Pontiac get the help they need to graduate from high school, enroll in college or trade school, and persist to graduation. In this position, you will be expected to create materials such as posters, roleplays, and interactive presentations and arrange college tours and other activities that promote a college-going culture. Knowledge of what makes a successful social media or marketing campaign would be of great benefit. Michigan Nonprofit Association (MNA) is a statewide nonprofit organization that serves its nonprofit members to advance their missions. MNA's vision is that Michigan's nonprofit sector be a vital leader in building and sustaining thriving communities, and MNA believes that active, engaged volunteers are imperative.
