Ohio Hispanic Coalition Resource Development VISTA
 
 
 
The Ohio Hispanic Coalition (OHCO) is a private, non-profit Hispanic/Latino organization with 26 years providing services to the Hispanic/Latino community of central Ohio. OHCO was established in 1990, and was certified as a volunteer, community-base organization. Today, OHCO has four departments: Health, Safety, Youth & Education and Interpretation & Translation Services. Under each department, numerous programs exist that educate the members of the Hispanic/Latino community. The Coalition is committed to providing services that help transition the under served, disadvantaged Hispanic/Latino population to safe, healthy, independent living.

Member Duties : The VISTA member will complete the following activities for all of the departments of the Ohio Hispanic Coalition, with particular focus on the Youth & Education and Safety Departments. Programs within these departments include: sexual assault and domestic violence advocacy, car seat safety, youth after school programing, youth summer camps, and adult education. -Reach out to local and national foundations to ask for recommendations for grant opportunities. -Write grants to fund new programs and to expand current programs. -Develop new programs within Safety and Youth & Education departments -Compile relevant data related to education, youth development, and safety for use in future grants. -Enhance partnerships between OHCO and other community agencies to facilitate collaboration with agencies that offer social services to the community. -Create and execute a plan to diversify the funding base of the agency, including researching donor management and fundraising databases
