Service Description : Spokane Neighborhood Action Partners (SNAP) is looking for an AmeriCorps Volunteer in Service to America (VISTA) to help launch their Social Enterprise. Social Enterprises are businesses that provided job training to populations that commonly have barriers to employment and create jobs as a way of addressing social and or environmental problems in a community. The SNAP Social Enterprise will help develop and bring energy efficiency and green energy to Spokane. The Social Enterprise VISTA will get to work with pillars of the Spokane community and gain the skill set needed to create and implement a business. The VISTA will be located in the SNAP Financial Access office, which is dedicated to working with low- and moderate-income people who want to start a new business or grow an existing business. SNAP is a community action organization that has its roots helping the Spokane community since 1966. SNAP’s Social Enterprise hopes to empower people by giving skills in an exciting and growing field, while also providing renewable green energy options at affordable prices.
