Virginia Coalition to End Homelessness - Veterans

The Virginia Coalition to End Homelessness (VCEH), state and national partners, and our service provider partners across Virginia are working to reduce and end veteran homelessness in Virginia by the end of 2015. The VCEH VISTA member will serve in VCEH’s office in Richmond, VA, and work with community leaders across the state to implement strategies to end veteran homelessness in Virginia. The VISTA member will play a lead role in coordinating a campaign to ramp up efforts to house veterans experiencing homelessness. The VISTA member will work with local governments, nonprofits, state agency officials, public housing authorities, veteran service organizations, and other partners to share best practices, coordinate training and gain media attention on the issue and solutions. The VISTA member will continue the work of the previous VISTA to help the Commonwealth meet its goal of ending veterans homelessness by the end of 2015, and then harness the system level capacity that was built to coordinate an initiative to end chronic homelessness. Knowledge and experience in housing, homelessness and/or the unique housing needs of military service members is suggested. Veterans are strongly encouraged to apply.
