The Rocky Mountain Indian Chamber of Commerce is a nonprofit business organization based in Denver, Colorado that strives to make Native entrepreneurial success its priority. The Chamber works with numerous Native businesses to help promote their services, to provide resources to leverage their success, and to forge alliances that foster growth for their companies that results in independence, self sufficiency, and economic stability in the Native American community. Serving the Rocky Mountain region for two decades, RMICC is committed to bridging economic collaboration among corporations, American Indian-owned businesses, and Tribes. Businesses that participate with the Chamber are engaged through: increased visibility, progressive workshops and presentations to optimize professional development, procurement activities linking businesses to other businesses as well as to corporations and government entities, alliances with members in other minority chambers, and professional mentorships with Indian entrepreneurial peers. Priority for hiring is given to applicants received by June 17, 2015!

Member Duties : The VISTA will support tribes, tribal organizations, and native businesses in order to raise Native communities out of poverty. The Outreach and Development VISTA will work on a range of activities aimed at increasing the nonprofits reach in the Rocky Mountain region. These activities include developing the RMICC online presence, social media network, events, programs, and funding opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a background in business development, entrepreneurship, or community development. The Outreach and Development VISTA will need to be professional in manner and presentation as they will be working with a variety of business in the Denver, Colorado metropolitan area. They will also need to have excellent written and oral communication skills as they will be researching best practices, presenting ideas publicly, and drafting funding proposals. Experience working in Native American Communities is desirable.
