As a VISTA with the University of Michigan, College of Pharmacy, you’ll work with budding health professionals to engage with health care disparities and the medically underserved in the local community. In this position, you will spend half of your time coordinating, expanding, and solidifying the work of the Interprofessional Health Studies students who provide tutoring assistance and engage children in health lessons and physical activity. The other half of your time will be spent expanding and strengthening community partnerships and the College of Pharmacy’s overall commitment to community engagement. Michigan Nonprofit Association (MNA) is a statewide nonprofit organization that serves its nonprofit members to advance their missions. MNA's vision is that Michigan's nonprofit sector be a vital leader in building and sustaining thriving communities, and MNA believes that active, engaged volunteers are imperative.

Member Duties : • Work with community organizations and service learning students to identify topics and design workshops. • Promote interprofessional course and service learning opportunities to recruit student volunteers throughout the heatlh science schools on U of M’s Campus. • Facilitate the connection between College of Pharmacy student organizations with community agencies working with underserved populations. • Work with service learning students to promote health professions and college-going culture to children in the After School Program.
