MNA 2017 - Delta College

As a VISTA at Delta College, you’ll be responsible for improving the learning and success of Delta students who have matriculated from low-achieving K-12 schools in Saginaw through student success workshops administered by Delta student volunteers. You’ll also continue to develop the Volunteer Incentive Program (VIP), through which volunteers for success workshops will be drawn. Delta College’s retention rate is 61% for full time students. Two of Saginaw’s schools are on the list of schools subject to closure due to underperformance. 80% of those students have free or reduced lunch. By engaging these students, and Delta students, the VISTA will help strengthen the community and create a positive environment for high school graduation and college attainment. Michigan Nonprofit Association (MNA) is a statewide nonprofit organization that serves its nonprofit members to advance their missions. MNA's vision is that Michigan's nonprofit sector be a vital leader in building and sustaining thriving communities, and MNA believes that active, engaged volunteers are imperative.
