Maine Campus Compact VISTA Leader
 
 
 
The VISTA Leader at Maine Campus Compact will help to support an 8-member statewide VISTA team with their work related to College Access and Success programs for low-income, underrepresented student populations. Responsibilities include providing technical assistance and resources on a variety of topics, including college access, working in higher ed, and general VISTA information. The VISTA Leader will also create and manage electronic media, including a newsletter and Facebook page; communicate regularly with VISTAS to determine their progress and provide support as needed; facilitate VISTA reflection; develop and organize training events, team building activities, and regular communication, including site visits. In addition, the VISTA Leader will provide general support for Maine Campus Compact, including coordinating an annual awards program and facilitating opportunities for collaboration with other AmeriCorps and VISTA programs in Maine and New England. Please note that to be eligible to apply for this position, candidates must have served at least one term as a VISTA.

Member Duties : --Create programming to foster a connection among the 2014-2015 AmeriCorps*VISTA team across Maine and provide the team with support and resources as they carry out their year of service, which includes leading regular team meetings and trainings, conducting site visits, assessing and implementing professional development opportunities, planning an end-of-year retreat, providing ongoing support to VISTA site supervisors, and contributing to the tri-state VISTA program network. --Coordinate recruitment of a new VISTA team in order to advance the work of AmeriCorps*VISTAs at Maine Campus Compact sites. --Coordinate Maine Campus Compact Annual Awards Ceremony --Serve as a liaison to the National Campus Compact Network. --Provide assistance for MCC programming and initiatives and take leadership roles when needed as well as contribute to the MCC network. --Work with VISTAs to plan and implement day of service events on campuses which may include MLK, AmeriCorps week, etc.
