20-21 NSEA Environmental Education Associate
Contingent on funding, NSEA will onboard three AmeriCorps Environmental Education Associates who will primarily serve to coordinate and facilitate the Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association (NSEA) Students for Salmon Program. Together, the members will communicate with teachers, lead classroom presentations, coordinate volunteers to facilitate outdoor field trips with students, and track and report on program accomplishments. Serving as part of a team, members will learn key professional skills such as nonprofit programming/budgeting, youth engagement, community partnership cooperation and build leadership skills, while learning about local watershed and salmon science. Member Duties : Members will organize, plan, and facilitate NSEA’s Students for Salmon Program; assist in the recruitment, training, and coordination of volunteers, update and maintain NSEA’s various databases, tracking volunteers and student engagement performance measures; assist with the Nooksack River Stewards Program; table outreach booths, assist in the production or outreach materials, conduct public presentations, provide social media posts, and assist with NSEA outreach events; and provide support to other AmeriCorps team members, cross training in their respective programs.
