17 18 Iowa Reading Corps School Year
 
 
 
Help students learn the skills they need to succeed by serving as an AmeriCorps member with Iowa Reading Corps in school districts across Iowa! Iowa Reading Corps members, trained as Elementary Literacy Tutors, serve on a part-time basis, approximately 6 hours a day during the school week, and provide one-on-one tutoring services to students in Kindergarten through 3rd grade who are below grade level in reading. Members will be placed in school districts across the state. Members use prescribed literacy interventions and conduct weekly progress monitoring to ensure that more students are on track to read at grade level by the end of 3rd grade. Apply today!

Member Duties : Iowa Reading Corps AmeriCorps members, trained as Elementary Literacy Tutors, serve in Reading Corps schools delivering research based interventions. Members provide one-on-one literacy tutoring to students in kindergarten through 3rd grade who are below grade level in reading. Members also partner with local United Ways to conduct volunteer recruitment and community engagement strategies as agreed upon by local need.
