BRACE VISTA - Summer Associate
 
 
 
Looking for five energetic Summer VISTAs who will ensure that low income and vulnerable youth are provided with the opportunity to maintain their knowledge and skills over the summer months. Specifically, this is to be accomplished by developing and implementing two day camp sessions over the summer. Both will be conducted at the HUD stimulus funded Heritage Oaks Mobile Home and RV Park. The first will be for youth ages 8-12 with the Student Tools for Emergency Planning (STEP) program as the foundation of the curriculum to be utilized. The second session will be for ages 13-18 and will use Teen CERT (Community Emergency Response TEAM) as its’ curriculum. By offering this critically needed training, we will enhance the resilience of youth living in poverty to disaster and other emergencies and build organizational and community capacity.
