QENO/Red Cross Volunteer and Outreach Management

Our Mission: The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. The programs and services provided by the American Red Cross are vital to the health and safety of the general public. Many of these programs and services are unduplicated and provide assistance, resources, and training that is not consistently available through other entities. The American Red Cross has served the Cape Fear region for more than 105 years. Founded by Agnes MacRae Parsley and seven other Wilmington women on November 10, 1908, the chapter was originally chartered as the Wilmington Society of the American Red Cross and is the oldest Red Cross unit in North Carolina now known as the American Red Cross – Cape Fear Chapter. The Cape Fear Chapter proudly serves the residents of Brunswick, Columbus, Duplin, New Hanover and Pender counties. Chapter headquarters is centrally located in Wilmington and office hours are M-F from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The chapter also supports a branch office in Whiteville that is open 20 hours per week. Disaster Services and Services to Armed Forces caseworkers are available to provide assistance 24 hours per day, 365 days per year, and are dispatched through our after-hours answering service.
