Open Door Healthy Futures Corps
Open Door, with its nationally renowned medical centers, mobile dentistry units, school-based health programs, and its family practice residency training program, delivers exceptional value to patients and the communities it serves, dedicated to engaging individuals in healthier lifestyles and creating healthier communities. Open Door believes that healthcare is a right, not a privilege, with primary care to be affordable and delivered cost-effectively. Open Door has partnered with CHCANYS in seeking AmeriCorps Members for its 2021-1022 Healthy Futures Corps Program. Members are placed in the Ossining and Port Chester medical centers. Open Door has three different AmeriCorps positions available: (1) Pre-natal Programs Coordinator- Support and coordinate programs that have a direct effect on the well-being and health of babies within our communities. Ensure that patients with young children are provided with the baby essentials and resources to improve the lives of their children and families. (2) Digital Literacy Advocate - Ensure that patients have the full capacity to communicate with their medical center and receive high quality care. With the support of the Patient Engagement Coordinator, the Digital Literacy Advocate will use a patient-focused, team-based approach to outreach and engagement. (3) Behavioral Health Associate -plan and facilitate outreach activities to promote healthy development in children and family wellness; work in cross-disciplinary teams to develop innovative program and marketing approaches to promote behavioral health and the importance of reading and early literacy. Open Door offers a generous living allowance of $25,500 for a FT position (1,700 hours), which is the equivalent of NYC minimum wage.
